Dave Dickensheets/new info

Carlene & Tina,
I've got great new information for you, as to this mystery! I found William Thacker's obituary...he was my gg-grf's stepfather, and is the "Father" Charles refers to in his letter about Dave Dickensheet's wife. You said that David & Harriet (Margaret Thacker) Dickensheets are listed on the 1860 census in IL. Then you said in 1870, Harriet and "Alexander Homan" are listed as living in Leelanau Co,MI. Ok..in William Thacker's obituary it says:
"He was twice married, and 11 children, 6 by his first wife, and 5 by his second wife (my gg-grandmother), survive him. Three of the former are now living in Ohio, one in Kansas, one, MRS.HOMAN, IN KASSON,LEELANAW COUNTY, and one, JP Thacker, is at present in this county (Grand Traverse,MI).
So it seems that Harriet(Margaret)Thacker, wife of David Dickensheets, later, Mrs.Homan, IS the daughter of William Thacker! I think the Margaret "Tucker" you listed, is actually "Thacker".
I have lots of info on the Thackers if you need it,and will look thru what I have for any more info....
Carol
