dicker family near Maidstone, Kent

hi, i just wanted a bit of help and advice, i thought i might research our family tree. my grandpa george dicker was the youngest of 13 children, only he and his sister are still alive. he was born in farleigh near maidstone and still lives locally. dicker is a very common name aorund here and i thought we may have lots of relatives we dont know about. his son, my dad died as did my gran, and grandpa is not to hot on who the relations are. one of his sisters went to austrailia. i have old certicates for hop growing won in goudhurst in kent by my great grandpa and lots of pictures, but i dont know much more. any tips or advice would be appreciated. (sorry if this message appears twice, i dont think i did right the first time)
