Julien Anenharison/risi Risse Visse 1743 Oka
I am very interested in your posting, Youri. I too have been communicating with Steve Nicklen or British Columbia, and he has been a great help to me in my reserach. I have been conducting considerable research over the past seven years, research which has led me to Cecile Anenharisonrisi Risse Visse Dicaire. I believe that she is the daughter of Julien Anenharisonrisi Risse Visse and Marie-Angelique, and ... that Julien is the name given to Adonijah Rice who was "captivated" from Westborough, Massachusetts during August, 1704 by Mohawks on a mourning war raid. I have written an essay about this which is published in the Newsletter for the Edmund Rice (1638) Association, Winter 2006 Issue, which is available online:
It is one essay in a series of essays I've done, "Reverend Parkman and the Rices."
The essay which most pertains to your posting is: "Finding Adonijah: After the 1704 Mourning War Raid on Westborough."
This essay was written first for the Rice family newsletter, so I have written to an extended family readership. However, a version of the piece which I wrote for a broader readership will be published by "American-Canadian Genealogist," which is the Journal of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society, during March 2007, in Issue #111, Volume 33, Number 1, 2007.
I am seeking information regarding Cecile's brothers, Louis and Joseph
Anenharison dit Anenharisonrisi dit Risse dit Visse, and would be very grateful if any of you who research the Annenharison/risi, Dicaire, or Dicker
lines have any information about them beyond what I have been able to discover.
If you have any suggestions for my seeking out any male descendants of
Julien Anenharison/risi dit Risse dit Visse, I would really appreciate that information. I am hoping to esablish more definitively whether Adonijah
Rice is in fact the same person as Julien Anenharison/risi, as I am sure you can appreciate!
Thank you for your posting! I hope this posting finds you!
