Join the Club!I have been trying and not coming up with an answer that makes sense. The book that I have DOES NOT mention a daughter named Hannah born to Thomas and Ellen Dickerman. However, just about any posting on the Basset and Ives genforum is positive that Basset and Ives m. Hannah Dickerman. The only thing that is mentioned, in this book, is that the mother of Samuel Bassett, m. to Mary Dickerman, is the "mother of both the Bassett and Ives family of New Haven."In fact, it mysteriously calls her "the widow of William Ives that then 6 months later m. William Bassett."
I also, in my data bank, have Hannah Dickerman as the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Dickerman, sister to Abraham. This is ONLY because I first got this information from LDS and did not at that time have this book in my possession.I would love to believe that my book is the "be all and end all" of information on Thomas Dickerman, however, it was done by human beings and human beings make mistakes.
I have been told that there are parish records of William Bassett in New Haven and his wife of record in the church is Hannah Dickerman Ives. Now, whether it says word for word Hannah Dickerman Ives, I am not sure.
I also descend from Abraham Dickerman, Mary Cooper through their son Isaac.A Dickerman daughter eventually m. John Sperry and then I continue on through the Sperry's.
Let's both of us keep looking for the answer. If you find it, please let me know and I will do the same for you.I would really like to get to the bottom of it.
