VERA BELL DICKERMAN OF CONNECTICUT
For about 30 years, I've had a journal kept by Vera Bell Dickerman during the '20s and '30s. Apparently she was a Connecticut woman - in one portion that she calls "The Western Wanderings of a New England Old Maid," she refers to her Connecticut license plate.
I don't think she had any descendants (being a professed "old maid"!) but she apparently had a brother, Charles Leroy Dickerman. Her mother was Lillian Lum Dickerman. Doesn't say her father's name. Lilliam's mother was Isabelle Lum. Isabell's mother was Isabella Vallentin Leigh.
There is a section at the back called "History of our English Ancetry as told by Isabella Vallentin Leigh," which has details about the Vallentin, Leigh and Lum families but nothing about the Dickermans.
If anyone has interest in this lady, feel free to send me an email and I'll give you what info I can. would also be happy to hear more about her if you know anything. I bought this journal at a New Haven antiques store about 30 years ago.
