I am the great great grand daugter of Josephine Didier Gavillet. Her daughter Octavia Gavillet is my great grandmother. Her son who was born out of Wedlock was Constant A. Gavillet. Both Josephine and Claude Francis Gavillet are buried at the West Cementary at Basco, Ill.

Josephine came to America with her mother. Her mother contracted colorea in New Orleans and died on their trip up the Mississippi at St Louis, Mo.

Josephine continued to Nauvoo with at least 3 of her children, where they worked and saved until they had enough money to purchase a small piece of land south west of Basco, IL.

After the farm was purchase her husband Claude Francis Gavillet joined her.

I am interest in hearing from you.

Dorothy Manley
