My paternal grandfather Edgar Dieckman of Brooklyn married Florence Henrietta Grautigam in about 1915. I think he was in his late 20s at the time. I believe he had a cousin named Henry, and I think that was his father's name, as well. In their early married years they lived in Woodside, then they moved to Hollis, in Queens. They had three sons--Edgar, born in 1916, Robert (my father, 1918), and Richard (1920). Edgar died in about 1921, of diphtheria. Ed and Florence had a summer home on Fire Island, and later one in East Quogue. Edgar (my grandfather)died in the mid-50s of liver cancer; Florence lived until 1989 r 90. I have some other info, and photographs. Let me know if you think we might be related.
