PETER DIEHL/DEEL was b. 12 OCT 1767 in Dover Twp, York Co and died in Botetourt Co., VA in FEB 1827. He is part of the huge DIEHL family of York County, descended from immigrant JOHANN ADAM DIEHL, who arrived in 1739. This family is well covered in a detailed 1989 published genealogy by HARRY A. DIEHL "Diehl-Deal-Dill-Dale Families of America Vol. 1. Diehl Families of York and Adams County PA." You might be able to find it in a genealogy library. I know there are copies in Salt Lake(LDS Library), Seattle Public Library, and PA Historical Society in Philadelphia. Harry has 4 other children listed in addition to Christina. He does not list a Rev. War service record for Peter, but Peter's father George was in the York Co. Militia. Good Luck!
