Mary Elizabeth Diehl w/o Philip Biery

The will of John Diehl of Longswamp Township, Berks County, Pa., identifies his daughter Mary Elizabeth as the wife of Philip Biery. The will was made 15 May 1788 and proved 1 June 1793. I believe that this is the Philip Biery from whom I descend via his daughter Mary Elizabeth Peery Miller (1769-1844). Philip, whose descendants changed their surname to Peery, was found in Botetourt Co., Va., from at least 1808 until his death there in 1831.

Descendants of Mary Elizabeth and Frederick Miller have given the name of Mary Elizabeth's mother as Elizabeth Dilling/Dellin/Delling but no documentation has been found. It seems quite possible that this surname has been mistranscribed or misunderstood and was originally Diehl or one of its other known variants such as Diell or Dill, especially if the German feminine ending of -in were applied to Diell or Dill, yielding Diellin or Dillin.

Does anyone have any information on the children of Mary Elizabeth Diehl and Philip Biery that could help answer this question? Any other information on their lives would also be appreciated. Thank you.
