No, you've got it right. The warning about Martin Diehl and the DAR Lineage Books was to alert you of serious errors there. There were TWO DIFFERENT Martin Diehls, one in what is now Lehigh Co. and one in Philadelphia, who unfortunately later moved to what became Lehigh and then Carbon Co. An early researcher "lumped" them into one person and it ended up in print in the DAR Lineage Books to perpetually confuse us. Your Martin Diehl was the Philadelphia one, who was NOT a Rev. War veteran. So about 100 years ago several descendants of your Peter Diehl got into the DAR when unfortunately they didn't have the correct ancestry. The two Martin Diehls are sorted out in my upcoming book on the Diehls of Southeastern PA.
