In late 1812/early 1813 a JOHN DIEHL died in West Buffalo Twp. His wife was REBECCA. The Union Co. Orphans Court case listed 3 children: NANCY; WILLIAM; and ELIZABETH, all minors under 14 years old. JOSEPH KIMMEL was named guardian. There was also an administration filed for JOHN DIEHL in Northumberland Co. on 31 MCH 1813, with JACOB MAIZE as administrator. On the same day an administration was filed for HENRY DIEHL, also with JACOB MAIZE as administrator. JACOB MAIZE was son-in-law of HENRY DIEHL and JOHN DIEHL was the eldest son of HENRY DIEHL. Your WILLIAM DIEHL is the right age and in the right township to be the son of JOHN DIEHL but I have no proof.
