Thanks for replying to my posting. Since then, I have learned a little more about this branch of my family, but not a lot.

I did have a stroke of luck when I came across a researcher from Virginia, who supplied me with pictures of a 1762 lease between Joseph Teel (aged 62 years) and Charles, Earl of Tankerville for property in Catocton Manor, VA. It mentions his on Henry Teel, aged thirteen years (confirming a birth date of about 1749). It also mentions a daughter (Mary, aged 16 years).
