Sherm - I tend to agree with you....Catharina DIEHM does seem to be too old to be a sister to Christopher. I have them listed as siblings, but have noted that she is 40 years older than he is. Her obit says that she came with her parents in 1833. I haven't done much research in Columbiana County, Ohio. I wonder if her parents naturalization papers are there? Maybe they bought land there. Deeds sometines mention where the person was from previously. I have a YEAGLEY family that "moved through" that county too. Would love to take a trip and do some research.
I've been in contact with Bev SHANK, of Avilla, on the DIEHM history she is compiling. I found what I believe to be the marriage record of Christopher in the IGI online and she seemed to think that was the missing piece to her puzzle with the WEIMER line. I haven't done much with linking into the WEIMER line too far. Here's what I found. It seems to be actual church records and not patron submitted information. This makes it a higher quality piece of evidence.:
Marriage record of Christoph DIEHM & Christina BUETTEL; 8 Jul 1819; Evangelisch, Wertheim, Mosbach, Baden. Batch # M934956; Dates 1766-1850; Souce Call #:1238277 FilmTitle: Kirchenbuch, 1556-1962; Authors: Evangelische Kirche Wertheim (A. Who is Christina BUETTEL? Were other WEIMER families married to the BUETTEL family?
Hope this helps.
