Thanks for your reply! You mentioned an obituary for Catharina (Deihm) Weimer. I have not seen this document - do you have some way of e-mailing me a copy of it?
It is also interesting you mentioned the surname Buettel. Supposedly one of Samuel Weimer's (father of Peter)wives was Magdalena Amalia Buettel. This Magdalena Buettel was either his first or second wife, and supposedly the mother of most, if not all, of his children. Samuel did not have any children by his third or fourth wives, both of whom he married after he settled in Noble County, Indiana. Early land documents show the name of Samuel's wife as "Mary", leading some people to believe that Mary was his second wife and Magdalena his firt wife. However, I believe that it is very possible that Magdalena and Mary were the same person, and that Magdalena had simply Americanized her name to Mary. If this is the case, then Samuel had an earlier marriage in Germany. Samuel's obituary states he was living with his fourth wife at the time of his death.
Apparently birth records of a number of children born to Samuel Weimer and Magdalena Buettel exist in Sonderrieth in Baden Germany. Magdalena was supposedly the daughter of Johann L. Buttel and Anna Maria Frober, and was born on May 28, 1792 in Sachsenhausen, Baden, Germany. It seems likely that Christina could have been a sister to Magdalena and a daughter to Johann Buttel. Hope this helps.
Also, What birth date do you show for Anna Catharina Diehm?
