Hi Kathleen,
Several years ago I sent to some family members the following suspected locations of Peter Disel in censuses before 1840:
1810 Census:
Peter Dice of Germantown, Philadelphia Co.
1820 Census:
Peter Dysil of Bellefonte, Centre Co.
1830 Census:
Peter Dicel of Spring Township, Centre Co. (Spring Twp. surrounds Bellefonte)
It's only thanks to the discovery of Peter and his children in the Spangler records that we can be sure the matches for 1820 and 1830 are confirmed. So you may want to add to your source list:
Spangler, Edward Webster. "The Annals of the Families of Caspar, Henry, Baltzer and George Spengler, Who Settled in York County, Respectively, in 1729, 1732, 1732, and 1751" (York, Pa.: York Daily Pub. Co., 1896).
I have not yet found confirmation of the 1810 census entry in Germantown, though I feel pretty confident it is the correct Peter.
Kind regards,
Robyn Noll
great-great-great-granddaughter of Peter and Elizabeth Disel
