My father Clark Distelhorst, his father Norman Distelhorst, the track continues to William A. Distelhorst, Frederick William Distelhorst, Simon Wilhelm Distelhorst.
This is where I found your post interesting. My decendant Simon Wilhelm Distelhorst is the brother of George Heinrich Distelhorst. The only difference being that your post spelled the name in the traditional Diestelhorst and the documents I have say Distelhorst. Anyhow they are brothers the track in my family continues from there just as your post did with Simon Johann Anton Earnst Diestelhorst (and my documents do show the tradition spelling), Georg Wilhelm Diestelhorst and finally Johann Jurgen Diestelhorst.
I have documents for all of these except Johann Jurgen Diestelhorst. Do you have any information on him?
I would be happy to share all the documents I have. They are all jpg files on my computer and can easily be e-mailed or burned to a cd and sent. I can get paper copies from my father. Would you have any more information to help me.
I am most interested in the change from Diestelhorst to Distelhorst. When did it happen and why?
Also the brothers Simon Wilhelm and George Heinrich who came to the United States. Why did they?
Also trying to track down photographs of these people to do a photographic family tree.
Well I hope I can be of help to you. I thought it was really cool to find the post and the connection of the two brothers.
