Thanks for the info, Richard. The fact that your George is probably buried in Covington, IN, does seem to eliminate him as the George that I am looking for. My George was a river boatman who ferried hay for livery barns along the Ohio river. He died in Carroll Co., IN abt 1838, the result of an accident and subsequent drowning in the canal. In 1820 census at Clear Creek Twp. he was in Warren co., OH and 1830 he was in Carroll Co., IN. in Deer Creek Twp.
So if there is a connection to your Gotlieb, it is not through your George. But thanks for the info. We are probably cousins of some sort, just don't know how yet.
