Hi there, Joanne,
Hope this message gets through to you. The Mary Ann of whom you're speaking could possibly be the sister of my great, great grandfather, Henrich Dieffenderfer (b. 1794). They (along with nine other siblings) are the children of Jacob Dieffenderfer (1759-1823) who served in the Revolutionary War. This information all is from the website of John-David Wilson (except for the part about my great, great grandfather, for whom I have the gravestone info). I also have a deed dealing with some property Henrich bought from a Jonathan Ranck, so it is to be assumed the families were fairly close. By the way, White Deer stayed in its location but the county lines changed--it's in Union County, PA now, though some records are in Northampton and some in Snyder, I think it is. Email me directly at LWAonezeroone [use the numerals] and perhaps we can share more. Laura in NC
