I've haven't found anything new. Have you?
Family tradition has George dying on the Ohio River in Carrol County, Indiana. I did learn that the Walbash (sp?) Canal was being build in Carrol County the year George died (1837) and many workers came from Warren County, Ohio.
This might explain what he was doing in Indiana.
