I don't know if this is any help. Marion Diggins (Sr. Theodora) was a cousin of my grandfather William J. Delaney(son of Patrick and Agnes Murphy Delaney). I still not sure exactly how they were cousins except that Sr. Theodora's mother was Annie Laurie Murphy most likely they were related through the Murphy side of the family. I have some of the vital records from the NEGHS. The document(eg Annie and Arthur Diggins marriage record) list Arthur's parents as John and Bridget O'Neil. But at the same time there was another Arthur Diggins living in nearby Gloucester he was not a Mariner but he was also from Nova Scotia. I'm finding that the Diggins are as confusing as the Murphys. I hope this helps some.
