my grandfather, George Diggins, did some
genealogical research back in the 1930's
which i read as a child. unfortunately, i
wasn't too interested after reading through
it, but i do remember he suggested that the
name may originally have been Dickens, and
that origination may have been from England.
not too helpful, is it? it does suggest
another track, as if we don't have enough
