Bernard,
No I'm NOT really sure about that, however the information I have seems to indicate this. Since my paternal grandfather came from Ireland, the Irish origin is all that I was interested in. Everywhere I have gone in Ireland I heard "That's not a Cork...Kerry... etc. name". I was told my grandfather came from Cork, but I have not been able to verify that. He was born 1860, naturalized 1875, so he came here as young boy.
