The coat of arms sounds like the one discribed to me by a distant cousin who returned to our ancestral town (near Salerno), Montecorvino Rovella, in the early eighties. He photographed a crest in the hallway of a home occupied then by several generations of DiGiacomo's. Unfortunately, I have not been able to secure a picture of the crest or verify the connection with relatives now living in Italy.

Does your family have any connections to the Salerno area? My ancestors settled in North Philadelphia in the late 19th century.

This forum connected me with a new cousin today. Perhaps I shall find another!

Can you tell me more about the coat of arms your family saved all these years? Is there any documentation to go with it? Any connection to medieval societies, knights, or battles? I am presently only back to the early 19th century on my tree. I will need to continue the rest of my research in Italy.
Perhaps a copy of the crest will open door for a verification through my cousin and the people he met in Italy, if they are still living where he found them in the 1980's.
