My gg grandfather's name was also Giuseppe Giacoma and he lived in Sale Castelnuovo (which is near Castellmonte which are both in northwestern Italy). He was born around 1845 or so. His father's name was Fernando Giacoma. Giuseppe's daughter Domenica Giacoma Salto b. around 1877 in Castelnuovo was my great grandmother. She emigrated to the US in about 1901 (I think) with my grandmother who was an infant at the time. Family members eventually settled in Kansas and in Chicago.
Sounds like there may be a connection or at least some common research territory.......
Mary
