Hello Shirley, my Grandparents names were Rosano and Augustino Nuoci, my grandfather was from Castiglione Italy.. His parents were Costanzo Donato Nuoci and Grazia Massaro. They did not, to the best of my knowledge, come to the US. He came to this country when he was 16 years old by himself or with with other relatives - however, I don't believe he came with any siblings. He chose CO because he had family here. (or so I have been told).

My Grandmother's maiden name was DiGiacomo, she was born in Italy but came over as a an infant, her 4 siblings were born here; her mother and father were Angela and Girolamo Hieronymus Di Giacomo, they too were from Castiglione, Italy. Angela's parents were Angelantonio Massaro and Mariie Nicola DiGiacomo - they were born and died in Castiglione. Girolamo and Angela lived and died in Boulder, County CO. Our family settled in the town of Lafayette, CO.

My grandfather, Augustino Nuoci was a farmer/rancher but he and some of my uncles (his sons) and some DiGiacomo cousins also worked in the coal mines in and around Lafayette, Louisville, Erie, CO - all of which are in Boulder County. When the family settled in this area, it was a farming/ranching community, however, now it has become more urban as the cities of Boulder, Lafayette, Louisville have all grown larger and almost have become suburbs of Denver.

Hope this helps you, any info you can provide would be great. Sounds like we could be related.
