Dave. My grandfather, Alfonso DiGiacomo was born in Lama dei Peligni, in about the 1860s. He married a woman named Giacinda, and they had four children. My father, Louis or Luigi, was the eldest son, born 9/9/85, and died in 1932. Other children were Joseph, Adelina and Angelina. They all moved to French Algers when the children were quite young, so they immigrated to the U.S. from there in the early 1900s, and settled in Chicago. My father, Louis married Julia Colangelo in 1914. I am the eldest of six children, born in 1918. Since my father died when I was only 14 yra old, I didn't find out much about my Grandparents, as they went back to the "old country" which could have been Italy or Algers, when I was only 5 yrs old. Since I am the eldest in the family, I want to complete my family tree before I go. Perhaps there is a connection here, since I also remember my father getting postcards from relatives in Penn. where I understand there are other DiGiacomo's still living.
