My grandfather was Giuseppe DiGiorgio. I am not sure where he was born. He died in NYC in December of 1943. He was married to Lucia Catoggio, who was probably born in Basilicata, Italy. They raised 9 children in Greenwich Village. The children were: Peter, Pauline, Catherine (my mother), Anthony (called Red), Rocco, Frank (called Chickie), Danny and Doris. There was another child named Frank who died at 8 or 9 years old, hit by a truck I think. I remeber relatives from the Privinzini and Santangelo families from my childhood. There was also a relative named Portia who lived in Boston but came to NYC to sing at family weddings. And I am sure some of my DiGiorgio relatives lived in Rochester, NY. Any connection?
