Keith,

Just came across your mesage on the site.

My great Uncle James Dignan was born in Edinburgh in 1894 and after a spell in Northern Ireland wnet to New Zealand.

Details very sketchy but my sister has a copy of his obituary which mentions his connection to New Zeakland Railways, involvement in choirs and football. He was still around in 1961 when his sister Sarah (my Grandmother) died - he arrived to visit the day of her funeral. His son was called Bob (married to Kay).

If this could be your family connection let me know and I will pass on more details that we have - very little. The other forum topic - Thomas/Bernard Dignan, Scotland, 1840 -related to James's family.

Regards

Bob
