Thomas Dignan & Bridget McLaughlan - Co Roscommon?

I've recently come across the 1896 Scots death certificate for my Irish-born gg-grandmother, Mary Martin (nee Dignan), and the certificate lists her parents as Thomas Dignan & Bridget McLaughlan; my ggg-grandparents, born circa 1805. They were presumably from County Roscommon, Ireland, up in Ardcarn Parish (northern County Roscommon).

Mary had married James Kilmartin in 1844 at Ardcarn Parish, County Roscommon, Ireland. Interestingly, James appeared in various records as Kilmartin, Martin, and Gilmartin in the same Ardcarn register, but solely as Martin in all subsequent Scots records, after the family of James & Mary emigrated to East Lothian County, Scotland, sometime after 1850. In James' 1889 death certificate, it lists his parents as Patrick Martin & Catherine Pow.

Does anyone know these families? Can anyone connect?
