hi Sandra!! Thank you for posting to my message;Ernie Dillavou was my husbands step-grandpa so we are looking into all aspects of his fathers' family tree.I have been to the Thelma Hollingsworth Local History Room at the National City Public Library [200 East 12th St.-N.C.,Ca.-San Diego county]and have seen the local city directories that list the Dillavou family here back in the [don't quote me!]1930s.I believe they had their own Auto Repair business-I believe it was Dillavou Brothers Auto...,we live fairly close to this library and if this is of any interest,I can go and copy down whatever they have-I know they are getting ready to pack up as the library finally recieved the state funding to build a bigger building around the corner! I would love to share any info with you about the family-so far I only have what you already know,I have been trying to focus on the Rossiter {Ernies wife Pearl} and Crowell {husband} line, however I often go on "side trips" whenever these relatives frustrate me.Ron,my husband, only knew Ernie Dillavou as his grandpa for four years {1941-1945).Interestingly enough, the local Registrar was my husbands' "aunt Jack"{her name was Cora R.Hallett}!!
Sorry this is so long-let me know if you'd like me to go to this library,I go to Nat'l City every Tuesday so won't be a problem. ***When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure*** with warmest regards,Debbie Crowell
