There is no documented proof, so far, that Arthur Delahaye, who I believe is the first De La Haye, Delahaye, Delahay, Dillehay, etc., who settled in Maryland Colony. emigrated from the Channel Islands. The original De La Haye in the UK, read Great Britain at the time, was probably a Norman knight who accompanied William the Conqueror. There were Delahaye's in early Scotland who intermarried with the Scot clans. There was a Delahaye Street in London in Elizabethan times. If anyone out there can identify our Arthur Delahaye with documented proof as to his origins, please let us all know.Thanks.
