I have Dilts Diltz,Dilse Dils in my background. They emigrated from New Jersey to Wainfleet and Gainsborugh townships in Ontario. The family has its roots in Germany. My records state that they arrived in Upper Canada in the 1790's. William Dilts was born in 1711 and died Sept. 10th
1794 and is buried in Knowlton Presbyterian Churchyard in Sussex County, New Jersey. He had several children but it states that his two sons Adam and William Jr. are responsible for the Dilts families found in Wainfleet and Gainsborough Townships. It was Adams children that came with his Uncle William. My great great grandfather's name is David. His daughter Catharine married Lewis Adley. I am trying to trace the father of David.
