Dilts/Hess connection in Pennsylvania

Daniel Dilts was born 13 Apr 1839, columbia, Pa. His only child, George, was not his biological son. George had been taken in and raised by Daniel and Mary Dilts. It is believed that George came from a Hess family and that he was Jewish, at least one of his parents was. George was born 19 July 1857. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Daniel was from a conservative religion and his ancestors had come from Germany to escape persecution. I do not know what church but when he was in Cass Co., Iowa, he belonged to the M. E. Church of Anita. George was not officially adopted according to my father so I do not know if there would be any records for him. Has anyone come across any of this information before? I am wondering if Daniel was related to Godfrey and who the brother and sister were that survived him after his death in 1908.
