My grandfather Orelio (Lawrence) DiMarco came to New Orleans in 1906 at the age of one. His parents were Francesco (Frank) and Giuseppina (Josephine) Montalbano DiMarco.
They came from the Palermo/ Bisacquino area.

Upon arriving in LA, they went first to Donaldsonville, where there were already apparently some relatives who we understand were brothers of my great-grandfather. They eventually made their way back to New Orleans where for many years they lived on Galvez Street and ran a bar/restaurant on Broad Street across from the Courthouse.

Other branches of the family settled on the West Bank (in New Orleans, not Jerusalem:)

I am interested in finding relatives in Sicily, as I understand that my great-grandfather Francesco left a sister there. No family contact has been made with them since the 1930s or 40s.

I would enjoy sharing more information and family details with you.
