Amos Dinger in the Civil War

I've got pieces of what I hope are one puzzle. I have a 3rd great-uncle, Amos Dinger, son of Michael Dinger and Catherine Ferringer. I have a Civil war Amos Dinger, who left a widow, Sarah, and a minor listed under the name of Troutman. There's another tree, with an Amos Dinger, who married a Sarah Troutman, but it doesn't have any info on prior family for Amos. Does any of this ring a bell with anybody? My Amos' family was from Armstrong co,. PA. It appears he would have been born c.1830-35.
