Barb: Thu extensive research on Wayne co. WV Dingess family,I still have not connected John T and Elizabeth to
the rest of the Dingess{Logan}families. There is a John s/o
William and Gertrude born abt 1852 in the area. Wm.A. lived
in the Dingess,Mingo area. at that time Mingo was Logan Co.
According to Mr. Osborne of Wayne genealogy society, there
is some errors in the records. He seems to think that
a John married to a Nancy Adkins is the same as a John T.
Dingess married to a Elizabeth Adkins. And This John is
s/o William and Clarissa {Adkins?} Dingess. I have most
of their descendents and can e-mail. in the 1900 Wayne
census, I see John and Elizabeth with the following kids=
Lee 23,William 21, Jacob 15, Cain 11, John 9. Two doors
down, I see French with Nancy Fry Married one year.
Elizabeth listed as having 9 kids 8 still living.. It shows
William's Dad as being from WV and Mother from Tennessee.
This is a great clue. one of the kids is named Tennessee.
I have John and Elizabeth's kids a possibly being =
French, Lee, William, Jacob, Cain, John, Tennessee, Nancy E. Gen. Lee, John H.?, Wayne.... French-Nancy Fry, Cain-Naoma(Oma)Adkins, Willam-Sara Watts, Lee-Martha Jane
Jacob-Hester Dalton, JohnH.(died as Infant?) John-Jinnie V. Dalton, Wayne-?. For anyone reading- some of this
is speculation. Do not cast this in stone......
