I have located two William Dingesses who were members of the Co. D. 36th Virginia Infantry, CSA, in the War Between the States. Both were from Logan County (W)Virginia. One is William P. Dingess who died at age 20 in Bristol (Tenn. or Va.?)on March 21, 1862, and the other is William N. Dingess who enlisted in the 36th Va. Inf. on Jan. 4, 1864, and who died in a Union prison on March 31, 1865.
