Marty

I am new to this and have only just picked up your message and that of Geraldine (follow up). I believe that your Richard Dingle is my great great grandfather's brother. My gg grandfather's name was William and according to the Cornwall Baptism Index for the years 1796 and 1801, was born in Egloshayle on 21 May 1796. His father and mother were James and Elizabeth Dingle. In the 1851 Census for Cornwall he (William)is listed as a Gardener Master. His wife's name was Mary and one of their two daughters, Mary Jane, married Thomas Beer of Great Torrington, Devon. Their daughter, Bessie, (my grandmother) married Charles Porter, born in Writtle, Essex,an Inspector in the Metropolitan Police. After retirement he moved to Gloucester where this branch of the family has remained ever since! Great to know there are relations in the States and Australia.
