My maiden name is Dingle and my father's family is from the Manning and Sumter areas. I am searching for those Dingle's of African-American heritage. My grandfather was Eddie Dingle who died in Oct. 1980 and according to other records was born Mar. 9 1894. I am assuming his family took on the Dingle surname from the Dingle in which they worked as a slave(s). I am very fascinated with what little I've discovered so far. I've also found a few others that seem to be related as they have lived in the same areas and born around the same time. I am guessing they were brothers and sisters. Including Eddie there are Clarence, Edith, Elise, Emma,Ernest, Hattie, Rigby, and Selven. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
