Another piece of the jigsaw. Yipee, Yes we are definitely connected although I'm a great grandson rather than a great great one
Mary Ellen was my Grandaunt - her brother Joseph was my Grandfather on my mother's side, but 11 years younger almost to the day & married 16 years later, hence the minus great.
Her Daughter Mary (your Grandmother ??) was staying with my Grandfather in the 1901 census in Millbourne Avenue.
Also Edward, another brother of Mary Ellen was staying with her family in the 1911 census.
You mentioned "patrick kennedy married to margaret dingle may be a brother of thomas" - brother in law maybe. There was a Tommy Kennedy - worked as an engineer in Ballyshannon 1940/1950s who is some connection. Also I think Elizabeth Josephine ( sister of Mary Ellen) married a Patrick Kennedy in or around 1905. There is also some connection with the names Moore & Smith - haven't got that far yet.
Anyway we could go round in circles & get totally confused, so I've attached a work in progress spreadsheet on my & presumably your Dingles along with a couple of photos taken in Kilbarrack Cemetary of the Dingle plot & also one of Edward Howards gravestone who I believe was a brother of Margaret Howard.
Only found the Howard plot because I remembered the family looking for another grave at one or other of the Dingle funerals & went on a bit of a search.
Have a read & get back to me when it suits.
From one distant relative to another
PS I'll post this up on the Genealogy forum without the attachments - might get a few more hits
