Irish/UK? Birth-Peter Dingle (1830/40?)

I am trying to locate the birthdate, birthplace and parents of my paternal Great-Grandfather, Peter Dingle. I know that his wife was a Margaret Fitzpatrick of Ireland. They had at least one son, Patrick (my Grandfather), who was born in Drogheda, Ireland on July 20, 1865. So I assume that Peter may have been born sometime between 1825 and 1845.

At first I had assumed that my Great Grandfather, Peter Dingle, and his ancestors might have been from Ireland for a long time, possibly from the area of the Dingle Peninsula. My husband suspects that my Great-Grandfather or his parents (my paternal Great-Great-Grandparents) might have emmigrated from Cornwall, UK, where so many Dingles seem to have originated from.

Can anyone help or assist me in this matter?

Marybeth Dingle Hunnewell.
