Ok, lets start back with some of our older ancestors. Our first ancestor was Amos Coffman born in 1780 in Kentucky. Amos can be associated with the family of Jacob Coffman and his wife Mary (Eleanor - Nelly) Hendricks. They lived in what is Anderson County where the town of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky is located. In 1804 Amos Coffman who was not a son of Jacob and Mary left Kentucky and went to Elbert County, Georgia. He married Sarah Dingler, daughter of Johannes and Nancy Paschall Dingler. They lived in Morgan County then Jasper County before moving to Giles County, Tennessee in about 1828.
