I too am a Helms desc., but not from the same line. My Helms were in Cambpell Co., GA by 1840 from NC. I think that your Henry desc. from a brother to my unproven ancestor. I am looking at the different families in Pike Co., GA as a desc. of that line also connects to another of my lines in MS. This desc. connects to the Dinglers, Akins, Helms, and other families. What I need to know is about this second marriage for Mary Akin. I don't have that. There is a record for Mary Ann AKIN and Henry Helms in 1841. There is also a record for a May AKIN and John Dingler in 1832. I am not sure that this is the same John Dingler that you speak of, but I don't think that the May and the Mary are the same person. Mary who married John Dingler is supposed to have been born about 1807. Mary who married Henry Helms was born about 1825. It seems to me that if Mary were married to John Dingler first, as the record shows a marriage for a John Dingler in 1832, then she would have been Mary Dingler when she married henry. This is not the case. Can you clarify your information for me? Thank you Mona Herrin Notify Administrator about this message?
