Mitch, according to Dr. Lee Dingus's manuscript titled; Dingus Family History, page 7, third paragraph as follows; "Numerous stories have been handed down of William Dingus's interest in providing comfort and relieving distress. As if a household of ten sons and daughters was not enough for him and his wife to provide for, they took care freely of friends and strangers overnight. Year after year his house was a second home to several of his nephews not adequately taken care of otherwise, notably his sister Elizabeth's two sons, Jim "Crow" and Crockett Dingus." This would seem to indicate that they were born out of wedlock to Elizabeth before she married George Washington Thompson....Nate....
