Thomas, Westmoreland Co., VA; late 1600s
I am not researching this family, just entering information from the booklet "Historical Atlas of Westmoreland County, Virginia" by David Eaton, 1942:
"Thomas Dios patented 1,200 acres of land 'south side of Potomac River behind Cliffs of Curawoman' and abutting on Great Rappahannock Creek. The description is so indefinite that the outboundaries cannot be precisely fixed, but it ws the land east of Robert Vaulx's land and north of the prsent Court House tract. This lanbd came into the hands of the Spence family, the Moxleys, and a branch of the Washington family."
