My Family Won't Talk
Posted by: Dan DiPaola Date: December 28, 2001 at 18:56:31

The DiPaola family that I am part of is from Brooklyn New York. We owned The DiPaola Funeral Parlor on Glenwood Road. I know that my family has some heavy skeletons in the closet. There is only one or two of my relatives still on this earth that can tell me the dirt. I have heard from third party associates of the family that there is a lot to learn about the DiPaola family and organized crime. I'm only 49 and was raised here in Southern Calif. I am a product of the 60s. My extreemly strict family in N.Y. disowned me because I was a hippy in the 60s. I have recieved more warmth from relatives in Southern Italy than from my own close family here in the states. My mothers maiden name was Torella. The town of Torella is in the province of Avilino just below Naples. I have been to Italy a few times. All relatives on my father's side swear that we are not from the island. Yet when I am in Southern Italy all who see me exclaim that I am from Sicily.
