One of my grandmothers was Harriet Hayes nee Diplock. She was christened 8 September 1867. I think this was in Mark Cross, just south of Tunbridege Wells. The 1901 census states she was born in Mark Cross Surrey, but I think this is an error. She married an Albert Hayes and they lived in Bean, Near Dartford, Kent. The place is described as Swanscombe in the 1901 census. Harriet had 8 children, the youngest being my mother who was born in 1902.
If anyone has any information on the Diplock family, I would be pleased to receive it.
