If you are going to keep giving out the French sea captain theory PLEASE give some evidence, proof, documentation, etc.!!! Family legend is not proof!!! All current evidence points to Andrew Jackson (1837-1915) being the son of William Disharoon (aft 1780-before 1850) & Elizabeth Downey, and William being the son of Waitman (1748-bef 1832) & Esther who came from Maryland in the late 1700s. Waitman’s line is William (aft 1697 - 1762) Disharoon & Mary Pollitt, John Disharoon (1677 - Aft Mar 1754) & Mary Cox, Michael Disharoon (?-1691) & Jane (the original immigrants to MD in the 1600s)
