Henry E. Disharoon, b. abt. 1831 in (NC?), married abt. 1855 to Delilah Mickle, b. abt. 1834 in Coweta County, GA, daughter of James M. Mickle and Elizabeth Hawthorn. Henry and Delilah were probably married in Randolph County, Alabama, the home county of Delilah’s parents, James M. and Elizabeth Mickle. The 1850 census of Randolph County, Alabama shows Delilah, age 16, in the household of her parents and Henry Disharoon, age 19, in the household of Timothy Disharoon, age 62?, b.VA, and Jane Disharoon, age 55?, b. NC. Question: Was Timothy and Jane Disharoon the parents of Henry E. Disharoon? In 1860 Henry and Delilah are found in the Union Parish, Louisiana census record with two children: Theodosia, female, age 4, born in Alabama, and James, male, age 2, born in Arkansas. Just prior to the 1860 census, on Dec. 9, 1859, Henry E. Disharoon purchased 160 acres of land in Sec. 20, T23N, R3W in Union Parish, Louisiana. The following year, on Sept. 25, 1860, his brother-in-law, Henry H. Ward, purchased 160 acres of land in an adjoining section, Sec. 19, T23N, R3W. Henry E. Disharoon and Henry H. Ward married daughters of James M. Mickle from Randolph County, Alabama. Apparently Henry E. Disharoon and Henry H. Ward both lived in Arkansas around 1858, because they both had a son born there in 1858. Information from "Booths Confederate Soldiers & Commands" (Ruston, LA, Library Microfilm): "Disharom, Henry E., Pvt. Co. C 28th (Gray's) LA Infty, on roll of Prisoners of War. Paroled at Natchitoches, LA June 13, 1865, residence, Winn Parish, LA." I have found no document, (tax record or census), that shows where Henry E. Disharoon was ever in Winn Parish, Louisiana. I don’t know why he gave his residence as Winn Parish.??? This is the last bit of information I have found on Henry E. Disharoon. If anyone has any information on this family, I would like to know 1) who Henry Disharoon’s parents were, 2) if there were any more additions to the family, 3) where they went after Union Parish, Louisiana, and 4) when and where they died. Thanks. WWard.
