The name Disharoon is assumed to be French, possibly from De Sharon in Brittany, but this is
speculation. Michael Disharoon, the original settler in Maryland, named one of this land grants New France in French, not in English. Another grant, New Britain, could be Great Britain, but could also be Brittany in France. The main southern Disharoon line was founded by Waitman Disharoon (1748-bef 1832) who went first to North Carolina & then Georgia in the late 1700s. His presumed son William is known to have married a daughter of Robert & Sarah Braden, but her given name is unknown. William was born 1780-90 in DE (Delaware) according to the census. Because of the family moving around there is some question as to the connections during this period.

Anything you can add as to Malissa’s descendants would be most welcome. My goal is to trace all Disharoon descendants.
